Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh today inspected three under construction bridges here. He was accompanied by Vikas Surjewala, XEN, NHAI; RN Singh, consultant and SDO Sanjay Sabharwal.
The DC examined the bridge constructed on Trangri river near Chhajju Majra. The 180-meter long and 12-meter wide bridge will be built at a cost of Rs 9.58 crore. The construction will be completed by February.
Similarly, he inspected the bridge being constructed at a cost of Rs 6.50 crore on Omla river between Chajju Majra and Patwi. It will be completed by March end. The DC also examined the construction of bridge on Begna river at a cost of Rs 7.40 crore. The building work is expected to end by February 15.
Later, the DC held a meeting with district officials to improve the traffic situation on Ambala-Hisar road. He directed the officials to reduce the size of dividers and shift the electricity poles to increase the width of the road near Manav chowk.
He said similar efforts would be made to ease traffic congestion in Ambala Cantt.
