Local football fans with no access to pay television have been missing out on the ongoing 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

This is because national broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) has not got the rights to the tournament.
Former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president has expressed concern over the situation and now wants the broadcaster to do everything possible to ensure the matches are broadcast.
“I urge the good management of KBC to immediately consult with other State agencies in mobilising the resources to enable them acquire the rights as soon as possible to enable the country come together to enjoy the beautiful game. “This is a very important year and amid rising political temperatures, the unifying power of football will be harnessed and national cohesion fostered during this period,” he said in a statement.
He added: “This is a major concern for many a Kenyan who have no access to the pay-per-view channels that are beaming the action from Gabon.

“KBC Channel One has for many years bridged this gap by living up to its duty of informing, educating and entertaining the country and therefore missing this edition so far has left the fans starved of this important event.”
