DEHRADUN: The CM4Youth page on Facebook has suddenly resurrected after being inactive for nearly nine months. The sudden feeds on the page has irked social media users who say that the timing “reeks of ulterior motives for earning brownie points ahead of elections”.
A post on CM4Youth page read, “Hello everyone! We are resurrecting the page once again to connect all the citizens of Uttarakhand with their beloved CM.
Connect with us through #cm4youth and spread the positivity.” One of the users, Sanjay Rana commented, “Sir, you are connecting at the time of election. I do not appreciate because when we had posted our problems in this page and you never reverted. So what does it mean? Sir, I am an unemployed B.Ed T.E.T qualified candidate”, to which a prompt response came that, “Hello Sanjay. We apologise for our inactivity. But we are back now and we shall help you in your queries. Thank you.”
Another user wrote, “It is election time and it is silly to think that people will not understand the gimmick.”
Meanwhile, chief minister Harish Rawat also launched a website hardakobolo.com on Friday, inviting people to share problems and assured solutions in 100 days by forming a dedicated task-force. A user posted, “What is the need to launch such initiatives at the time of elections?”
Some users welcomed the move, but said it was initiated late. “#HardaKoBolo. Mahodaya kadam achcha uthaya, par der se uthaya (Sir, it is a good step but a little too late!),” a user tweeted.
Interestingly, hashtag #Astrologer Bejan Daaruwalla started trending on Twitter by Sunday afternoon with over 1,900 tweets sharing that the famed astrologer has again predicted Rawat’s victory in the assembly elections. Taking a dig at the predictions, a user said, “Why the astrologer was not able to anticipate the train accidents, road accidents, and yes.. #DeMonetisation too ??(sic).”
