BHAKTAPUR: Suraksha Cricket Club and TipTop-XI recorded wins in the Khukuri Challenger T20 Cricket Tournament here at the Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds on Monday.

In Group A match, Suraksha defeated SMC Baneshwor by 141 runs. Opting to bat first, Suraksha scored 214-5 before packing SMC for 73 in 17.4 overs.

Prem Tamang top scored for Suraksha with a fiery 53-ball 85 that included 10 boundaries and two sixes. Tamang returned to grab four wickets to restrict the opponents to a low score. Suraj Khadka scored run-a-ball 29 with the help of four boundaries for SMC.

In Group D match, TipTop recorded a 50-run win against Chand Brothers. Batting first, TipTop scored 172-8 riding on Sonu Tamang’s 21-ball 46 that included three boundaries and four sixes. TipTop then restricted Chand Brothers to 122-8. Ajay Sahani was highest scorer for Chand Brothers with 37 hitting four fours and two sixes. Ishan Pandey took three wickets for TipTop.
