The fourth edition of annual Aurangabad International Film Festival (AIFF) —scheduled to begin from February 3 — will showcase around 30 movies over a period of four days.

AURANGABAD: The fourth edition of annual Aurangabad International Film Festival (AIFF) —scheduled to begin from February 3 — will showcase around 30 movies over a period of four days.
“The event, to be held at Prozone Mall, will screen movies that have received accolades at government film festival and Pune International Film Festival,” organisers said.
“Besides Marathi films, movies in Malayalam and Assamese languages will also be screened at the festival along with acclaimed movies from France, Turkey, Poland, Spain, Israel and Portugal,” he added.

Vaibhav Dange directed Chitthhi, Sandip Patil directed Dashkriya and Anant Mahadevan directed Dr Rakhmabai are the Marathi movies that will be shown during the festival.
“The film festival will not have any entry fees, but audience will have to pay Rs 300 for a one-time catalogue. Students and senior citizens can avail 50% discount on these charges,” organisers said.
The festival, which has been evoking growing response every year, will also have a short-film competition this year. Short-films in Marathi, Hindi and English can be sent as entries. The film duration should be between 7 and 15 minute. The last date for entry is January 30.
Actor Naseeruddin Shah and director Jabbar Patel among other eminent personalities are scheduled to attend the festival. The further details are available on the festival’s website — www.aurangabadfilmfestival.com.
Organisers said special efforts are being taken this year to reach out to foreign tourists. “We have approached the hotel associations and major corporate houses to ensure desired turn up of foreign tourists,” organisers said.
