BENGALURU: Supreme Court Justice Kurien Joseph on Saturday said it is difficult to find a reformed person coming out of jails in India.

Addressing the 32nd edition of Vichaarmanthan, an interactive session with global and Indian visionaries at Kristu Jayanti College in Bengaluru, Justice Joseph said due to overcrowding in prisons and lack of innovative methods from jail authorities, it is difficult to find a reformed person coming out of jails. Indian jails can only tame prisoners, not reform them, he said.

During his interaction with faculty members of the college, he advised them on the importance of moral values and the significance of the role of teachers to impart knowledge to youngsters. He also appealed that teaching can do wonderful things to change the world at large.
