January 22, 2017 12:00 am | Updated 04:13 am IST - KURNOOL:

The bodies of two second standard students, Myla Narasimha and Arella Raghavendra, both aged eight years, who allegedly drowned in a marshy drainage pit while returning from school in Nagisettipalle village in Brahmamgari Matham mandal in Kadapa district were retrieved.

The boys who were returning home fell into the pit while playing with a friend on Friday evening. When their friend ran to the villagers and informed them, they fished out the bodies. The five-foot-deep pit was dug to let water flowing from street taps, but was uncovered.
