BJP announces second list of candidates for upcoming Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2017: View Complete list here

The election in Uttarakhand is slated to be held on February 15. where all the 70 constituencies of the hilly state will go to poll in single phase.

Dehradun, Jan 22: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released the second list of candidates for the upcoming Uttarakhand Assembly elections 2017. The second list comprise of six candidates for upcoming polls in the hill state. The election in the state is slated to be held on February 15. All the 70 constituencies of the hilly state will go to poll in single phase on February 15. On January 16, BJP released the first list of candidates for upcoming polls in the state. The counting in all five poll bound states will be held on March 11, 2017. The list was announced by Union Minister JP Nadda on Monday evening at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

In the first list, Nadda announced a total of 64 candidates for Uttarakhand. Meanwhile it was also announced that the candidates can start filing the nominations for the Uttarakhand polls on January 20. Ahead of the forthcoming Uttarakhand Assembly elections, former Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Congress veteran Narayan Dutt Tiwari and his son Rohit Shekhar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday.

Meanwhile in Uttarakhand, the cold war between Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Kishore Upadhyay has been in public. Apart from battle with rival party BJP, Harish Rawat is also battling for supremacy within the state unit of his party.

As per reports, Uttarakhand BJP chief Ajay Bhatt and incumbent minister Mantri Prasad Naithani were among 21 candidates who filed their nominations on Saturday for the Assembly polls. Naithani is a minister in Harish Rawat’s Cabinet who entered the fray from Devprayag.
