Bike falls at speed bump, woman riding pillion dies

GURGAON: Accidents claimed the lives of two persons, including a woman, in Palam Vihar and Sohna on Friday.
According to police, the first accident took place near the community centre of Kartarpuri village in Palam Vihar around 4.30pm when a 40-year-old woman, identified as Ranjana, was riding pillion on her relative’s motorcycle. The biker lost his balance on a speed breaker and fell, causing grievous injuries to the woman on the head.
She died on the spot and the relative fled.
The victim’s husband, Ajgebinath, filed a complaint with the police against the relative, Anubhav Kumar, accusing him of rash driving. An FIR has been lodged against Kumar under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (death due to negligence) of IPC. “The accused is absconding, but will be arrested soon,” said ASI Mohan Singh of Palam Vihar police station, the investigating officer in the case.
In the other accident that took place late on Friday night, a driver rammed his vehicle into a stationary three-wheeler near Ghamroj village on Sohna Road. The driver of the three-wheeler, identified as Amar Singh, belonging to Sohna, died on the spot.
On the complaint of Mahender Singh, brother of the deceased, an FIR has been lodged against the accused under sections 279 and 304A of IPC at Bhondsi police station. “We are trying to identify the vehicle and its driver,” said ASI Ahmad Azeem, the investigating officer.
