KUWAIT: Responding to campers' complaints about the annoyance caused by all-terrain vehicle (ATV) riders, Ahmadi detectives toured the camping and chalet areas, where they impounded 25 ATVs, issued 40 traffic tickets and arrested seven riders, referring them to relevant authorities.

Man dead in parking lot

An Iranian man reported finding a Bangladeshi national in bad health in a parking lot in Al-Rai, said security sources, noting that on examining the man, paramedics discovered he had died. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Video investigated

Interior Ministry officials are currently investigating a video showing two police patrol cars escaping from the scene after a number of young men assaulted and insulted the policemen. They drove away after hearing noises that sounded like firearm shots in the background, said security sources, noting that investigations are in progress to identify the policemen.

Liquor possession

A citizen was arrested in Hawally when he seemed nervous at a routine checkpoint. Policemen found out three bottles of liquor in his possession, in addition to a plastic bag containing a substance that is suspected to be drugs.

Bootlegger caught

An Asian homebrewed liquor seller was arrested with four bottles of liquor. Security sources said the man was initially stopped because his vehicle's taillights were broken, but when he seemed nervous, detectives searched the vehicle and found the liquor.

Accidents at Gulf Road

Three vehicles collided into each other along Gulf Road outside the National Assembly building. Security sources said no casualties were reported in the incident, which was soon followed by another accident in the same spot when a vehicle turned over.

Beggar arrested
