Steven Tyler's 2012 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder raised $800,000 for charity on Jan. 20, 2017, at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale. Tyler threw in a weeklong stay at his Maui mansion and a guitar signed by all of Aerosmith's members to the winning bidder.

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler unveiled a few surprises to pump up a packed crowd Friday evening at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, where his 2012 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder raised $800,000 for charity.

As bidding soared past a half-million dollars, the rock-and-roll legend took the microphone to add a few extra perks to the bid package: a weeklong stay at his mansion in Maui and a guitar signed by every member of the Aerosmith band. The crowd roared in excitement as the bidding war escalated.

All of the money will go Tyler's charity, Janie's Fund, which works with Youth Villages to help abused and neglected children across the country.

Tyler's black Hennessey is one of only 12 ever produced and is the convertible version of a Venom GT that topped 270 mph during a run at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in 2014. The 1,244-horsepower two-seater can reach 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and 200 mph in 14.5 seconds.

The Hennessey was never just a "show car" for Tyler, who liked to drive it from Beverly Hills to Palm Springs and "open it up on (Interstate) 10," Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson said. The car cost well over $1 million new.

This 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Copo was auctioned for charity at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017. It sold for $175,000 to benefit United Way.

Two other charity cars hit the block at Barrett-Jackson on Friday, both donated by auto manufacturers. A first-production 2017 Chevrolet Camaro COPO sold for $175,000 to benefit United Way, and a 2017 Ford Raptor truck raised $157,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Charity cars have long been part of Barrett-Jackson's identity, with about $91 million raised over the 46-year life of the event through Thursday, according to the company.
