Bournemouth v Watford - Story of the Match

Latest soccer news

Substitute Benik Afobe snatched a point for Bournemouth as they twice came from behind to draw 2-2 against Watford.

The visitors looked on course for a first win in seven matches after Troy Deeney headed them in front, but Afobe climbed off the bench to bail out the Cherries eight minutes from time.

Bournemouth, smarting from back-to-back defeats by Millwall and Hull, had fallen behind to Christian Kabasele's header before Joshua King pegged Watford back shortly after half-time.

TWEET OF THE MATCH

STAR MAN Heurelho Gomes. Watford's Brazilian keeper was a doubt for the match with a back injury but you would not have known it as he twice sprung backwards to keep out looping Bournemouth efforts as well as pulling off some other fine saves.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH Adam Smith did his best to wrestle Troy Deeney to the floor but Watford's burly skipper was not for moving as he nodded in Tom Cleverley's corner for his 101st goal for the Hornets.

MOAN OF THE MATCH For a player who likes to shoot so often Jack Wilshere really should score more goals. The England midfielder saw one effort palmed away by Gomes and skied another over the crossbar, but has yet to find the net for the Cherries this season.
