After Sonu Sood, Vidyut Jammwal, and Neil Nitin Mukesh, it’s Thakur Anoop Singh’s turn to play villain in Kollywood. He takes on Suriya in C3 . The pilot-turned-actor, who became famous for his role as Dhritarashtra in the television series Mahabharat, has already garnered attention for his mean body. But it hasn’t come easy for the former Mr. World. “I eat 40 eggs a day and I have to work out for around six hours, even while shooting,” he says.
The film’s highlight, he says, is a brutal bare-body fight scene between the leads that took seven days to shoot. “During those seven days, I couldn’t even drink much water, as you have to dehydrate yourself for the muscles to become more evident. But trust me, the result is there for all to see.”
Even so, he describes the work that went into learn his Tamil lines. “The dialogues took five hours of learning each day.”
He plays the role of Vittal, a millionaire playboy in the film. “It really is a delight to play the role. After all, who wouldn’t want to live the life of a guy who has his own private jet, a bevy of bodyguards, wearing the most stylish of clothes.”
His focus shifted to body-building after his long stint playing Dhritarashtra. “I took up body-building to break the image I’d got after playing the elderly character. But once I was done with body-building, people couldn’t even recognise me. It was almost like a rebirth.”
The actor will also be seen in Puri Jagannadh’s Telugu film Rogue and in Hindi’s Commando 2.
