In the midst of Louis Tomlinson‘s solo venture taking off with his Steve Aoki collaboration “Just Hold On,” he also gets to celebrate another huge milestone: his son Freddie’s first birthday.
Just before Freddie turns 1 on Saturday (Jan. 21), Tomlinson chatted with Carson Daly alongside Aoki on 97.1 AMP Radio Thursday and shared what he loves most about fatherhood.
“All of it,” Tomlinson said. “Any time he can do something new — I know he’s not a dog [laughs], but… for example, he just started taking his first few steps, which is like nothing else, but before that he was a little bit vocal. It’s constantly changing, but the whole thing is super cool.”

As for his life outside of being a dad, Tomlinson suggested that “Just Hold On” is only the beginning of what fans will be hearing from him — but he won’t be following in Harry Styles’ acting footsteps just yet.
“I’m very much focused on [music] right now,” he insisted. “I feel like I’ve got a lot going on, but you know, in the future, you never know what could happen. But for me, my interests lie in music.”
