The patient is monitored for any breach of these limits by the system. Every time a vital sign crosses a threshold value (upper or lower limit), an instant alert is triggered in the central system, and it sends out an SMS to the physician, informing him/her that the threshold value has been breached. The system provides a high degree of flexibility and ease-of-use. Threshold values can be set up, or existing values modified, in minutes. The physician can also access a full record of all abnormalities recorded by the RPM system by logging into the central system. The system is fully compliant with HIPAA regulations and all data recorded is securely backed up on a regular basis.
