Ferrari will celebrate its 70th anniversary at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Maranello has confirmed. Appropriately enough, the company promises an mouth-watering collection of 70 Ferraris in West Sussex to mark the birthday.

It’ll include an array of roadgoing and racing Ferraris, dovetailing neatly with Lord March’s overall 2017 theme ‘Peaks of Performance – Motorsport’s Game-Changers’.

Around 25 single-seater cars will be rolled out of Maranello’s vaults and Ferrari promises a spread of cars from the 1940s to the present day. There will also be a dedicated Ferrari 250 category at this summer’s Cartier Style Et Luxe concours event at the festival.

Goodwood has also confirmed that the event, the theme of which focuses on the ‘high watermarks of motorsport‘, will showcase the following:

  • 1930s Grand Prix cars
  • Group B rally cars
  • Turbocharged F1 cars
  • Ground effect-utilising F1 cars

What else do I need to know about the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed?

The 2017 FOS has been forced to change to a slightly later set of dates in the calendar, to avoid a clash with the Baku Grand Prix.

Group B rally cars: celebrated at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed

After the final confirmation of the 2017 Formula One calendar, the Baku race has changed to overlap with the Festival of Speed’s original provisional slot in June. To ensure that F1 teams and drivers will be able to present at the event, the Festival has now shifted to a week later.

Lord March always has to liaise with the FIA to find a date that’s compatible with tier-one motorsport events, wrapping the Goodwood events around the grands prix and Le Mans calendar, for instance.

What about show dates and ticket availability?

The key dates of the showcase events in West Sussex have been confirmed as:

  • Goodwood Festival of Speed 29 June-2 July 2017 (previously 22-25 June 2017)
  • Goodwood Revival 8-10 September 2017

Tickets are on sale now, but be warned: Saturday and weekend tickets have already sold out…
