Accrington midfielder Scott Brown is suspended for the visit of Carlisle after an appeal against his red card at Cheltenham last weekend was rejected.

Brown will serve a four-match ban, which further stretches manager John Coleman's resources after a number of players departed in the last 10 days.

The latest to move on was midfielder Bastien Hery, who left the club in the week having failed to secure a regular first-team spot.

Coleman is keen to bring in new faces and has spoken to John O'Sullivan, who was on loan at Stanley until earlier this month, about a permanent deal after the winger had his contract cancelled at Blackburn.

Carlisle striker Jabo Ibehre could return at a ground where he was sent off after just 34 seconds last season for a rash challenge on the home side's Matty Pearson.

Ibehre missed last week's 1-1 draw with Morecambe due to a virus, but with boss Keith Curle short of firepower he is set to come straight back into the starting line-up.

The Cumbrians released Derek Asamoah this week so youth-team prospect Cameron Salkeld is expected to retain his place in the first-team squad.
