VADODARA: Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad has signed a Rs 50 crore memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the
Gujarat government during the recent
Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit to extend its medical education and health care services.
The MoU is part of the investment promotion activity of Gujarat government for the summit.
The expansion plan proposes to have a number of facilities, a new state of art library, hostels, an extension wing for the hospital, a diagnostic centre to accommodate hospital’s NABH-accredited labs and finally a centre for critical care that would have 110 ICU beds initially, with further possibility of availing 40 more beds.
The hospital’s existing medical and surgical ICUs see an occupancy rate of close to 100 per cent often requiring it to refer patients to other hospitals.
“The new buildings and infrastructure are needed to cater to the increasing number of patients, most of them coming from the underprivileged society, coming to the hospital for treatment,” a release issued by the hospital said.
Last year the hospital treated over 4,00,000 out patients and 35,000 in patients. The proposed expansion will also create employment opportunities in the region.
The hospital participated in the unique forum of Vibrant Gujarat
Global Trade Show 2017 to provide an opportunity for exchanging ideas, sharing knowledge, networking and exploring business opportunities with the visitors and international delegates.
