Nawazuddin's first role on the silver screen was in Aamir Khan starrer 'Sarfarosh' in 1999 where he played a criminal.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an example that Bollywood is not always biased towards talent. In an industry obsessed with glamour and appearance, many-a-times skills and abilities have taken a back seat, but Nawazuddin has carved a niche for himself in the tinsel town. He secured his roots in the industry with his roles in Gangs of Wasseypur and Manjhi. His characters in Talaash, The Lunchbox, Badlapur and Kick were the critic’s favorite, while he got noticed in Bollywood after Kahaani.

While Nawazuddin is riding high on his latest movie Haraamkhor, we took a walk down the memory lane and spotted him an older movie. Nawazuddin played a petty criminal in the Rajkumar Hirani hit, Munnabhai MBBS. He played pickpockets Sunil Dutt’s pocket in the movie which stars Sanjay Dutt. Nawazuddin is a science graduate and quit his job as a chemist and came to Delhi in the 1990s to learn acting from National School Of Drama. After which, the actor went to Mumbai to try his luck in Bollywood. He was faced with rejections in the initial days, but he did not lose hope.

His first role on the silver screen was in Aamir Khan starrer ‘Sarfarosh’ in 1999 where he played a criminal. Though he did various small roles his big break from a movie called ‘Patang’ in which he played the lead role. After the film went to the Berlin Film Festival Siddiqui’s performance was noted by international critics. His upcoming movies include Babumoshai Bandookbaaz and Raees.
