16-year-old stalked by neighbour, ends life

HYDERABAD: Unable to tolerate harassment by a stalking neighbour any further, Vani 16-years-old, committed suicide in the city on Wednesday.
The victim, who used to work as a domestic maid, was being followed by her neighbour Srikanth for the last two months.
According to the police, the deceased was warned by Vani, who was a resident of Meerpet, on several occassions in the last two months.
"Unable to bear with the trauma, she tied a noose to the ceiling fan with the help of her dupatta and ended her life," said N Ch Ranga Swamy, inspector of police, Meerpet police station.
Acting on a complaint given by her 29-year-old elder sibling G Laxmi, the police filed an FIR in the matter under sectioon 354 (D) and 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also under section 11 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act of 2012. Further investigation in the case is still on.
