Railways CC defeated VVKRM by one wicket in the Krishna District Power League at Mulapadu here on Thursday.
VVKRM scored 243 for six in the allotted 40 overs and in reply Railways CC reached the target with one wicket to spare in 38 overs.
In the other match, Royal CC scored a three-wicket win over Kondalpalli CC.
The scores: VVKRM CC 243 for six in 40 overs (N. Jyothi Sai Krishna 119, A.G. Praveen 36) lost to Railways CC 246 for nine in 38 overs (Vasanth Rao 51, Shankar 43, A. Srinivas 35 ); Kondapalli 160 in 34.5 overs (Jayawardhan 39, Vamsi 39, Prabhu Kiran three for 18, Nikhil three for 25) lost to Royal CC 161 for seven in 30.5 overs (Susamkeerth 51, Prabhu Kiran 36, Dinesh Chandra three for 52).
SAI selections
Sports Authority of India (SAI) will conduct district-wide selections for National Sports Talent Contest (NSTC) scheme in athletics (boys and girls) and gymnastics (girls) at V.P. Siddhartha Public School on Jan. 23.
The age groups: Athletics (11 to 14 yrs); Gymnastics (8 to 12 yrs).
Tennis tournament
Krishna District Tennis Association will conduct an AITA tournament for men and women (knockout) at IGMC Tennis Complex from Jan. 23 to 27 in which 130 men and 70 women will take part. The qualifying rounds will be held on Jan. 21, 22 and the main draw will on Jan. 23.
