Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri informed the house that 84 road projects have been sanctioned in Doda and Ramban districts during the current fiscal which include 49 projects under PMGSY Phase -10 , eight under NABARD and 27 under district plan.Replying to a question by Sham Lal Bhagat in the upper house, the Minister said that construction of road from Damtop to Kundichill Bagla Phase-1 upto Kund was taken up under NABARD RIDF XII for a length of 6 KM at an estimated cost of Rs 3.45 crore.The Minister said the requisite amount stands fully released/utilized on the construction of the road. He said 1 KM of the said road has been metalled, 2KM shingled and 2.50 KM developed up to fair-weather status. He said the road was damaged due to floods beyond Km-3rd RD-500 which has been temporarily restored. He further informed that a road stretch from KM-4 RD 700 to Km-5 RD 500 has been washed away due to rising of water level of Baglihar Hydroelectric Project. He said a DPR for construction/re-alignment of Dumptop to Kundi road at an estimated cost of Rs 2.97 crore has been recommended during current financial year for funding under NABARD.
The minister said regarding connectivity to Kurwas/Topneel, the same would be considered under PMGSY subject to guidelines.He said the habitation Shamthi stands connected through road from BB Rajgarh to Shamthi, under PMGSY. He further said that the road from block boundary Bhagwah to Barsi has been included in the revised Core Network for left-out habitations.The R&B Minister said that there are 1171 habitations in the state including 176 habitations in Chenab valley which have been inadvertently missing/left-out in the original/core network. He said matter has already been taken up with the Union Ministry of Rural Development for incorporation of these habitations in the core network of PMGSY.Legislators Firdous Ahmad Tak and Vibodh Gupta raised supplementary questions and urged for up-radation of road network in Chenab valley.
