2 leopards killed
Bhopal: Two leopards got killed in the state in last 24 hours. One fell into a well in Hoshangabad district on Tuesday night and the other was hit by a speeding train in Umaria district. Both leopards were adult, said forest officials ruling out any poaching attempt.
The leopard, which fell into a well in Hoshangabad district died before a rescue team reached.
The spot was 3 km from Pachmarhi area.
Similarly, a three-year old leopard was mowed down by a speeding train near Ghunghuti railway station in Umaria district. The incident took place in wee hours about 3 km from Ghunghuti railway station in the district, said s forest official. The matter was informed by the railway officer.
