CCI approves GSK-Aspen Global deal
Aspen Global will acquire the anaesthesia portfolio of GSK in a deal worth 180 million plus milestones of up to 100 million
New Delhi: The competition commission of India (CCI) on Thursday approved the acquisition of certain brands of Glaxosmithkline (GSK) by Aspen Global.
The fair trade regulator announced its approval in a posting on the microblogging site Twitter.
Aspen Global will acquire the anaesthesia portfolio of GSK in a deal worth £180 million plus milestones of up to £100 million.

GSK’s anaesthesia portfolio consists Ultiva, Tracrium, Nimbex, Mivacron and Anectine/Midarine brands.
The acquisition will transfer certain brands of GSK, including the goodwill, intellectual property, and marketing authorisations, contracts, business information and business records associated with these brands.
On 12 September, 2016 GSK in a press release announced divestment of its anaesthesia portfolio in a series of arrangements to Aspen Global “aligned with GSK’s strategy of simplification through focusing on core therapeutic areas".
