Hello and Welcome to our Live Coverage of the second ODI between India and England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. (Live Scorecard)

India Innings:

09.41 IST: THAT'S IT! India beat England by 15 runs to clinch the series. Another excellent contest. The result was not too much in doubt after India made 381 but Eoin Morgan took the game close, giving the hosts some doubts.

England did not get off the best of starts, losing Alex Hales early. But then, Roy and Root fought hard with a century stand. India then bounced back with three wickets in 32 balls and the tourists seemed to be getting rolled over. But Moeen Ali and skipper Morgan then revived their team with a quickfire stand of 93 from just 73 balls. India were a bit worried during the 40-over mark but Moeen Ali's wicket opened the floodgates. In the end, it was too much left for Morgan to do and he fell after scoring a magnificent 102.

Not a series for bowlers. Around 700 runs were scored the other night and tonight, 747 have been scored. The spinners did the trick for India, with Ashwin and Jadeja going for just 110 in 20 overs combined, picking up 4 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was excellent at the death, stifling the batsmen.

21.08 IST: WICKET! Jasprit Bumrah gets his second as he removes Chris Woakes for 5. England are capitulating now. A slower ball outside off, 111 kph, Woakes is early into his swing and completely misses the ball. It hits the off stump. England 304/7 (44.2 overs), need 78 runs more to beat India 381/6

21.03 IST: WICKET! Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets the danger-man Moeen Ali for 55. Bhuvneshwar provides the breakthrough for India! Smart bowling, keeps this full and around off, changes the pace as well, delivering the off cutter. Moeen looks to go over the top of cover but ends up getting a thick inside edge onto the stumps. A fine, fine knock from Moeen but India keep chipping away. England 299/6 (43.3 overs), need 83 runs more to beat India 381/6

21.01 IST: FIFTY! Moeen Ali slams fourth half-century. England 297/5 (43 overs), need 85 runs more to beat India

20.50 IST: DROPPED! Moeen Ali dropped on 37 by Ravindra Jadeja off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. England 276/5 (41.2 overs), need 106 runs more

20.43 IST: Ravichandran Ashwin finishes his spell of 10 overs with 3/65. England 269/5 in 40 overs, need 113 more

20.34 IST: FIFTY! Eoin Morgan brings up his half-century off 53 balls. England 252/5 in 37.4 overs

20.22 IST! DRINKS! England require another 145 runs from 14 overs at 10.35 RPO. Not impossible though but India have the edge at the moment. All eyes will be on Eoin Morgan and Moeen Ali as the duo has added 31 runs in 4.4 overs. It will be tricky few overs now. England 237/5 in 36 overs

20.05 IST: WICKET! Ashwin gets his third. Remember the great Ian Chappell at this stage of the game. He always used to point towards fielding as an important aspect in the game. Many a times, what happens is, a fielding effort changes the course of the game. On the previous ball, two runs were available but because of Jadeja, the batsmen got only a single. Had that not happened, Buttler would never have been on strike! The darter from Ashwin, slipping this down the leg side, sensing that Buttler will come at him and then making the ball to go past the bat. Dhoni collects and then waits for the batsman to try to get back. Buttler sees that, tries to get back but then Dhoni whips the bails off. England are crumbling now. Wide signalled as well. England 206/5 in 31.3 overs

19.49 IST: WICKET! Ashwin strikes again as he removes Ben Stokes for 1. That stays low and goes through. The carrom ball around off, Stokes stays back, playing for the turn, but the ball goes straight on, takes the inside edge and hits the stumps! England have lost two in quick succession now. England 173/4 in 27.2 overs

19.45 IST: WICKET! Ravindra Jadeja gets rewarded for his hard work. Jadeja gets Roy again. The change of pace does the trick. Tossed up slowly on middle, Roy stays back and looks to run it down to third man but the ball turns away just a touch and hits the off stump. England 170/3 in 26.1 overs

19.23 IST: WICKET! Cometh the hour, cometh the man! Ravichandran Ashwin delivers in his first over. Ashwin gets Joe Root to break a 100-run partnership. Root once again falls after a start and Ashwin has struck with his fifth ball. Full and outside off, a bit of width, Root goes for the slog sweep with mid-wicket inside the ring but only ends up being away from the ball. Gets a top edge which balloons in the air and Virat Kohli calmly takes it at short mid-wicket. That brings the crowd to life which was beginning to get restless. England 128/2 in 19.5 overs

19.20 IST: FIFTY! Jason Roy slams his 7th fifty while Joe Root gets to his 19th half-century. England 126/1 in 19.2 overs

19.11 IST: DROPPED! A tough one though. Jason Roy dropped on 44 by Jasprit Bumrah off Hardik Pandya. A short ball outside off, Roy pulls it over mid-wicket. Bumrah leaps but the ball bursts through his hands and races to the fence. England 113/1 in 17.2 overs

18.56 IST: SIX! That's massive from Jason Roy. The England opener is not letting Hardik Pandya settle as he comes down the track and hits Pandya over the long on fence for a big six. England 87/1 in 13.2 overs

18.54 IST: FIFTY PARTNERSHIP! Jason Roy and Joe Root have added 53 runs for the second wicket. England 81/1 in 13 overs

18.47 IST: Ravindra Jadeja comes into the attack in the 11th over. Second Powerplay has also been signalled. England 70/1 in 11 overs

18.33 IST: FOUR! That's a fine shot. Joe Root slashes hard past cover point for four off Jasprit Bumrah. That also brings up England's 50. England 50/1 in 7.2 overs

18.27 IST: FOUR! Fine shot. On a length outside off, Root stays back and punches it behind point for a boundary. England 38/1 in 5.2 overs

AP Photo

18.17 IST: OUT! Caught behind! One down, 9 to go. On a good length outside off, Hales looks to push it away but ends up chasing the ball and nicks it behind to Dhoni. Simple catch and India have an early breakthrough. Bumrah gets rid of Hales for 14. ENG 28/1 in 3.5 overs

18.12 IST: FOUR! CRISP! Half volley outside off, Hales leans and drives it wide of mid off for a boundary! ENG 20/0 in 3 overs

18.10 IST: FOUR! Third man is up and Bhuvi bowls this wide outside off. Hales reaches out and slices it over short third man and gets a boundary

18.06 IST: FOUR LEG BYES! Harsh on the bowling side. Bumrah almost bowls a yorker, but outside leg, Alex stumbles but the ball goes off his pads to the fine leg fence! ENG 9/0 in 2 overs

18.04 IST: Bhuvneshwar starts with a maiden! ENG 0/0 in 1 over

18.00 IST: Alex Hales and Jason Roy are out in the middle. Bhuvneshwar Kumar starts for India.

India 381/6 in 50 overs vs England. Yuvraj Singh 150, MS Dhoni 134. For England - Chris Woakes 4/60, Liam Plunkett 2/91

England had a great start with the ball, as Woakes removed the top order in a jiffy. But the 256-run stand between Yuvraj and Dhoni completely put England out of the game. Yuvraj was at his best, smashing 150 out of 127 balls, while Dhoni, albeit he was cramping, put in 134 of his own. The stand started at a run rate of under 4 and finished at a value of 6.67. Woakes got a 4-fer but he would have preferred to have got Yuvraj's wicket as well.

Terrific batting display by the hosts. Actually that is an understatement. From 25/3 to recover to post 381 is simply outstanding.

17.31 IST: Woakes to R Jadeja, An anti-climatic end. A short ball outside leg, Jadeja looks to hook but misses. He expects a wide but does not get it. A dot ball to end the proceedings and INDIA FINISH ON A COMMANDING 381/6!

A full ball wide outside off, Yuvraj looks to drive this through the covers but the feet do not move as much and he gets a thick nick to the keeper. He departs for a wonderful 150 from just 127 balls. Deserved a double there. The crowd stands as one. What a knock. Take a bow. Can England come back from here? The 256-run partnership for the fourth wicket comes to an end. India 281/4 in 43 overs

16.50 IST: Woakes to Dhoni, CENTURY!! Dhoni smashes 10th ODI hundred in 106 balls. Almost a catch as well. A short ball outside off, Dhoni pulls this towards deep square leg. 13.42 IST: Woakes to Rahul, OUT!! Edged and taken! Woakes has the first strike! A lovely delivery. Lands this in the avenue of apprehension, which is around an area near the 4th stump. This means that the batsman has to play at it and Rahul does. The length is somewhere between full and good, which further means that the batsman cannot leave it, assuming that the ball will go over the stumps. So Rahul looks to play. But at the last moment, the ball moves away and takes the outside edge. It dips on its way to second slip where Ben Stokes takes a very good catch above the surface. Woakes is pumped up and why not? Early break for England again. India 14/1 in 2.1 overs

Preview:

A flamboyant Indian team that has converted chasing down incredible targets into an art form are once again ready to show their ruthless streak as they aim for a series clinching victory against England in the second One Day International match, here on Thursday.

With 'Chase Master' Virat Kohli playing one magical knock after other, knocking off 300-plus scores has been like a walk in the park with the skipper himself smashing 17 tons at a staggering averaging of 97-plus in those matches.

And with India's penchant of producing quality batsmen, it was Kedar Jadhav, who matched his skipper stroke-for-stroke during his 65-ball hundred.

India now are the only team to have chased 350-plus thrice and in each of them Kohli has been the backbone with centuries each but Jadhav's innings caught English skipper Eoin Morgan off-guard.

The diminutive Jadhav's confidence in such a short international career made everyone sit back and look up in astonishment.

As the teams gear up for the second ODI at Cuttack, England team will certainly feel a bit deflated after failing to defend a total of 350 having got four top-order batsmen back in the hut for less than 100.

"We went to alternative plans, primarily trying to get Virat off strike. But we certainly did not expect Jadav to play like that. India kept up with the rate, and kept coming, and the wicket allowed them to do that," Morgan said after the match.

Add to that, India have had a good record at the Barabati Stadium, where they have won 11 out of their 15 ODI games.
