Ipswich defender Adam Webster will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ankle injury during training.

The 22-year-old, who joined Town during the summer from Portsmouth, did not feature in the FA Cup third-round replay defeat at Lincoln on Tuesday night.

Scans confirmed damaged ligaments, so Webster will be set for a long period of rehabilitation.

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy said on the club's official website: "Adam's ruptured his ankle ligaments and it's a big blow for us and for him.
