KUALA LUMPUR: Bumi Armada Bhd’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating storage unit (FSU), Armada LNG Mediterrana, achieved its first LNG project in Delimara, Malta.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the oil and gas company said the project represented its first ever floating LNG project.

“This achievement starts the 18-year and two-month charter of the FSU with ElectroGas Malta Ltd (EGM) for the contract that was signed on April 13, 2015.

“The project execution included two million man-hours of work without any lost time incident, which is a testament to the high level of safety awareness and focus by the execution and operation teams,” it said.

To recap, the company announced its agreement dated April 14, 2015, signed through its unit, Armada Floating Gas Storage Malta Ltd and Armada Floating Gas Services Malta Ltd with EGM.

The agreement was for the conversion, supply and operations and maintenance of one FSU for the project. - Bernama
