BARC Report Week 2, 2017: Naagin 2 and Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki retain their top positions

There were no surprises on the TRP charts for the second week of 2017. Colors' hit show Naagin 2 wowed fans in urban and rural sectors to emerge as the top show followed by favourites like Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and Kumkum Bhagya. The presence of Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur for the promotions of Ok Jaanu on The Kapil Sharma Show again boosted its ratings on TV. The telecast of the Stardust Awards 2017 on Colors also got a good viewership in the urban areas. Colors and Rishtey have stormed the rural viewership with Naagin, Naagin 2 and Udaan. It is not surprising coz all three shows have content that is enjoyed by village audience. The love saga of Soumya (Rubina Dilaik) and Harman (Vivian Dsena) is also going very strong on the TRP charts. Viewers have connected to their tale of unrequited love spiced with drama in form of second marriage. A guy marrying the lead actress' sister track always works well. Wedding drama is saleable drama. Top shows (Urban): Naagin 2 is the top show in the nation followed by Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya is at the third place followed by The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony Entertainment Television. The Sansui Colors Stardust Awards was at the fifth place.

Top channels (Urban): Star Plus, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SAB, Zee TV, Life Ok, &TV, Rishtey, Sony PAL and Star Utsav.

Top channels (Rural): Rishtey, Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Sony PAL, Colors, Star Plus, Zee TV, Big Magic, Sony Entertainment Television and Life Ok.

Top shows (Rural): Rishtey's Naagin was top spot followed by Naagin 2 on Colors. Sony PAL's Baalveer, Rishtey's Udaan and Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya make up the list.
