    Taalbelia: A royal musical treat in Rajasthan
    When: January 26-29, 2017
    Where: Castle Mandawa and Desert Resort, Mandawa, in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan.
    This four-day boutique music festival will feature more than 30 renowned artistes from contemporary, classical and folk music genres, performing across three stages at two venues. In addition, there will be arts and crafts, adventure activities, interactive workshops, gastronomic experiences featuring local cuisine, and royal hospitality. The festival is being hosted in collaboration with the Royal Family of Mandawa.

    Chinese New Year 2017: Festival of lanterns

    The second new moon after the winter solstice heralds the arrival of the Chinese New Year. Ushered in by the new moon, the celebrations culminate in the Festival of Lanterns on the night of the full moon, 15 days later. The grand finale is a colourful street procession called the Festival of Lanterns. Men, women and children carrying beautiful lanterns join the grand parade led by an enormous dragon as crackers and fireworks illuminate the night sky. The dragon will repel the evil spirits of the New Year, the lanterns light the way for the good spirits and the cacophony of exploding firecrackers drive away the forces of darkness.

The festival is a unique showcase of rich and colourful folk culture. Once there you will be welcomed by the folk singers, puppeteers, acrobats, fire dancers and many more in their traditional, colourful and vibrant attires. Between all this traditional glitters you will find a special place for the ships of the desert, the camel. Apart from a camel ride you can enjoy watching the camel polo and the camel decoration. One can even participate in competitions like tug of war and matka phod race.
