Robbie Williams joins line-up for BRIT Awards ceremony

Robbie Williams has joined Little Mix, The 1975 and Emeli Sandé on the bill for the BRIT Awards ceremony 2017.

The sometime Take That singer is the latest addition to the line-up for the event, which takes place on February 22 at London’s O2 Arena. Williams was announced as the recipient of 2017’s BRITs Icon Award last October and was presented the trophy onstage at The Troxy by his Take That bandmates.

Robbie Williams commented: “I’m delighted to be performing at the BRITs once again. It’s always a special night for music - this year feels like a big one”.

BRITs Chairman Jason Iley added: “We are excited to welcome back Robbie Williams to the BRITs stage as he has become part of the Awards history. He’s a world class live performer who never disappoints!”

Williams holds the record for BRITs wins, having scooped 17 awards. The singer will also feature on The BRIT Awards 2017 album, released via Universal Music on February 17. The Weeknd, Zara Larsson, Little Mix, Christine And The Queens and Rag’N’Bone man are among the other acts also included.

The nominations for the BRIT Awards were announced last week, with Skepta, Kano, Craig David and Stormzy prominent among the artists selected. David Bowie and Leonard both received posthumous nominations.

2017’s edition of BRITs Week gigs with War Child has also been revealed, with Paul Weller, Stefflon Don, The 1975 and Anne-Marie among the artists due to play.
