Monica Lewinsky's affair with Bill Clinton to be subject of future season of 'American Crime Story'

Monica Lewinsky's affair with President Bill Clinton will reportedly be the subject of an upcoming season of Ryan Murphy's juggernaut hit, "American Crime Story," Entertainment Weekly reports.

According to their sources, the creative team behind the show, which tackled the O.J. Simpson case in its acclaimed first season, has optioned the rights for Jeffrey Toobin's book, "A Vast Conspiracy."

It's unclear when the season will air, as Murphy has previously confirmed plans to focus on Hurricane Katrina and the famous murder of Gianna Versace for its upcoming seasons.

"The People v. O.J. Simpson" has been the awards darling of pretty much every major award in television, picking up a slew of awards at both the 2016 Emmys and the 2017 Golden Globes.

Lewinsky, who has made it her mission over the past few years to combat the cyber bullying and abuse in the press that she experienced throughout her cheating ordeal, has yet to address the news.
