Power connection to 20 irrigation wells

January 19, 2017 12:00 am | Updated 04:12 am IST - ADILABAD:

The Telangana State Northern power Distribution Company Limited will provide power connections to pump sets on irrigation wells in villages of Indervelli mandal in Adilabad district. Initially, 20 wells will be connected with power supply in villages of Laltekdi and Marutiguda, according to TSNPDCL Adilabad Superintending Engineer Jaywant Chauhan.

Company Chief General Manager A. Nagesh accompanied by a team of engineering officials visited the villages and surveyed the wells and electric poles without electric cables on Wednesday. He found about 25 poles have been erected but lines were not rigged.

The top official also inspected the 100KVA transformer which was installed in 1999 but was never put to use. He also recorded statements of farmers with regard to billing them without power being supplied.

Mr. Chauhan told The Hindu that the bills of farmers served wrongly would be waived off.
