Lane Kiffin still shading Auburn, even after bolting 'Bama for FAU

By Alex Butler

Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Alabama might have lost the National Championship and its offensive coordinator, but Lane Kiffin hasn't lost his disdain for a former SEC rival.

The Crimson Tide's former offensive coordinator awkwardly departed from the team just before it lost to Clemson in the National Championship Game. He was hired by Florida Atlantic University in December to be its next head coach.

But on Wednesday, Kiffin, 41, showed he hasn't forgotten about the Iron Bowl rival Auburn Tigers.

"#missyouguys," Kiffin tweeted, with a photo of a private jet baring the Tigers' logo. The jet was likely stationed on an airstrip somewhere in South Florida, as Kiffin works to recruit for the Owls. In his time with the Tide, Kiffin's offenses slashed the Tigers 55-44, 29-13, and 30-12 for a 3-0 record.

Kiffin still cheered on the Tide, showing no bad blood during its 35-31 loss, by tweeting a photo of himself during the game while wearing Crimson Tide sweatpants. "RTR!! #17 #BoKnows," Kiffin tweeted on Jan. 9.
