Noka review of Lodgepole shows similarities to Rook 1

2017-01-18 11:50 ET - News Release

Mr. Nav Dhaliwal reports

NOKA COMPLETES TECHNICAL REVIEW OF LODGEPOLE POINT URANIUM PROJECT, SOUTHERN ATHABASCA BASIN

Noka Resources Inc. has completed a technical review of its Lodgepole Point uranium project, which covers about 4,773 hectares in the Cree Lake area on the southern margin of the Athabasca basin, Saskatchewan, and identified several fundamental similarities to Nexgen's Rook 1 project in the Patterson Lake corridor.

Both the Rook 1 and Lodgepole Point projects contain structurally controlled northeast-trending features, along the southern margin of the Athabasca basin, that contain hydrothermally altered lithologies with anomalous levels of pathfinder elements. First-pass drilling of the Horse conductors, which were initially identified by geophysical programs completed by JNR Resources, identified highly mylonized and altered graphitic pelite units, containing up to 65 per cent graphite. The drilling, which only superficially penetrated the basement, also encountered highly altered units containing anomalous levels of base metals elements, such as copper and zinc. Recommended work at Lodgepole Point would include the drilling of the basement layer, to depths of up to 500 metres. The depth to the basement is a nominal 50 to 150 m.
