NEC bolsters PA Series with 5 projectors

NEC has added five XGA, WXGA and WUXGA resolution LCD projectors to its PA Series professional range.

The installation projectors incorporate the latest iteration of NEC's Scaler Chip. The integrated picture processor can simultaneously manage 4K/60p input and share signal output with multiple daisy-chained connected projectors. It delivers noise reduction, de-interlacing, scaling and full 10bit colour processing.

Additional developments include colour space conversion with Rec2020 to Rec709 specification support, along with HDR10 media profile and 3D support. A number of inputs and outputs are provided including HDMI and HDBaseT-Out. It has motorised zoom, focus and shift as well as tilt and portrait mode installation capabilities. Picture sharpness processing has been upgraded with NEC’s fourth generation Sweetvision engine.

Copyright protection standards allow UHD Blu-ray and 4K content to be played out via the HDMI interface and for the projector to manage copyright compliance directly.

The five new projectors in the PA Series range have contrast ratios of up to 10,000:1, geometry controls to adapt output for curved and irregular surfaces, free orientation for angled installation, multi-screen and picture-in-picture projection output along with stacking and blending support.

Cat 6 network cabling is supported so content can be transferred to the projector from up to 100m away using the HDBaseT connectivity standard. Multiple projectors can be fed from one source and daisy-chained from a PA Series projector using the HDBaseT-Out interface.

Units have a lamp life of 5,000 hours, 10,000 hours of filter run time and standby power consumption is 0.3W.
