Sony Mobile is expected to announce a couple of smartphones next month at Mobile World Congress, and two of them might be equipped with MediaTek chipset as proven by their UAProf (user agent profile) documents.

Today, we have another report that claims the high-end Sony G3221, which we reported about earlier this week, is indeed going to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6757 Helio P20 processor.

The Xperia smartphone with model number G3221 made it to AnTuTu, a benchmark application that is often used by users to test the performance of their handsets.

Sony G3221 will also pack a Mali-T880 graphics processing unit, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage inside. Also, as mentioned in our previous report, it will sport a full HD (1080p) resolution display of unknown size.

Another strong point of the phone could be the impressive 23-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is complemented by a secondary, no less impressive, 16-megapixel camera in the front.

As expected, the G3221 will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Along with some other Xperia phones that will probably be unveiled at MWC 2017, the G3221 will be Sony's first smartphone to ship with Nougat on board.
