With bearish traders targeting about 6 percent of Pearson Plc’s outstanding shares, the publisher’s stock is the seventh most-shorted on the U.K.’s FTSE 100 Index, according to data compiled by IHS Markit Ltd. and Bloomberg as of Jan. 16. The world’s largest education company tumbled as much as 25 percent on Wednesday, the biggest-ever decline, after withdrawing its 2018 profit goal.
