Fish killed during robbery. The supervisor of a KB Homes development in the 1900 block of Cathy Way called police Dec. 29 because someone broke into one of the furnished tour homes and stole a $2,000 TV that was mounted on the wall and secured with a lock. The suspects used a fish bowl to break a window inside. Three fish were found dead on the floor.

Holiday break-in. The owner of Sabor Mexican Grill, 14301 E. Cedar Avenue, called police Jan. 2 because someone broke into the restaurant while it was closed the day before. The suspects broke the glass out of the front door and stole the safe full of cash that was in the building. There was no security footage.

Stolen light show. A family returned to their home in the 900 block of South Memphis Way after shopping all day Dec. 24 and noticed that someone stole two sets of Christmas laser lights that they had in their front yard. There are no suspects.

Neighbor reports robbery. On Dec. 31, a man’s neighbor called police because she thought she heard someone rummaging through the man’s house next door, in the 14000 block of East Utah Circle. The witness said she saw a suspect run out of the house before police arrived. The house had been torn apart, and a safe and some electronics were taken.

Garage burglaries. Police responded to an apartment complex in the 16100 block of Easter Circle on Dec. 29 because a man said someone got into his garage unit and stole four pairs of shoes and assorted power tools. There was another resident in the complex who also reported things missing from their garage unit. There are no suspects.
