SpaceX fans capture launch from unique vantage point

Three space enthusiasts took to the skies on Saturday, January 14th to observe SpaceX's long-anticipated comeback launch from a bird's eye view.

Excited about the company's return to flight, aerospace entrepreneurs Amir Blachman, Ben Marcus and Van Espahbodi decided to fly by and witness the launch from the air.

"We were approximately five miles east of the restricted airspace, which would put us approximately 15 miles east of the launch complex", Blachman told Reuters.

Video uploaded online captures the Falcon 9 rocket successfully taking off and soaring into the sky.

The launch returned the company to flight for the first time since a fiery launchpad explosion in September.
