Kin of Rohith Vemula detained at University of Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: After a day long protest at the University of Hyderabad, Radhika Vemula, mother of Rohith Vemula and Raja Vemula, brother of Vemula were detained by the police from the university main gate on Tuesday.
Both Radhika and Raja were refused entry by the university security staff to pay tribute at Rohith's memorial established inside the campus. According to eye witnesses, Raja was allegedly dragged by the police and taken to the police station.
Vijay Kumar Pedapudi, one of the five suspended research scholars was also detained by the police.
Apart from this, over 20 other students too were detained by the police for trying to entry the university campus.
