LFW 2017: Meet Petr Nitka, first gender neutral model to walk at Lakme Fashion Week at their Summer Resort 2017 edition in India (In 12 pictures)

Petr Nitka, a gender neutral model is going to make his debut in the Indian fashion scene at the Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) Summer Resort 2017 in February.

Just the other we told you about Anjali Ameer, a woman who was a transgender person before her sex change. Anjali will be making her movie debut opposite Malayalam superstar Mammootty and the superstar had introduced her on his Facebook page with a picture and a caption, “Anjali Ameer, one of my costars in Ram’s “Peranbu”.” That shows how far we have come in our acceptance of all genders in India, where homosexuality is a crime and Section 377 is in place. Now, there is more good news for the Indian LGBTQ community, as a gender neutral model is going to make his debut in the Indian fashion world. Petr Nitka, as he is called, is all set to shock – or rather wow – audiences at the Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) Summer Resort 2017. The first season of LFW 2017 will be held from February 1 to 5, 2017 in Mumbai at the JioGarden in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). While fashion designer Monisha Jaising will be opening the LFW Summer Resort 2017, Anita Dongre will be doing the LFW 2017 closing show. We don’t know who all Petr Nitka is going to be modelling for at LFW. Let’s know more about the very photogenic Petr Nitka through his pictures.

Petr Nitka was born in the Czech Republic. According to a statement, he is a known face in the international fashion circuit and has walked the ramp at the South African Fashion Week. Fashion designers and fashion photographers find him attractive and usually the gender neutral model has been seen taking to the ramp to showcase menswear as well as womenswear brands. Although we have had transgender models walk the ramp in India or even star in the movies either to represent their community or to be made fun of (sadly), we have probably never had an international transgender model walk at a prestigious show like the LFW. Petr Nitka will be the first one indeed.
