New Delhi, Jan 17: Expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh reacted to the victory of Akhilesh Yadav in the internal feud of Samajwadi Party. Amar Singh rejected the charges made against him by a section of SP leadership, saying that he had no role in the conflict between Akhilesh and his father Mulayam.

“Those against me can say whatever they want. They can label me ‘khalnayak’ and ‘shakuni’. But I am neither,” Amar Singh said, further adding, “Mulayam ji has never considered me a khalnayak.”

“I have been expelled from the party and I accept it. I am out of the conflict, that’s why I am here in London,” he said.

On being asked about Akhilesh’s victory at the Election Commission, Amar Singh said, “Who won and who lost is sadly decided on basis of success.” The Mulayam-Shivpal camp have reiterated charges of arrogance against Akhilesh, who enjoys the support of 95 per cent of party volunteers and delegates.

Amar Singh did not refrain from making a cryptic comment about the kind of treatment meted out towards him by the Akhilesh camp of Samajwadi Party. “Ek tarfa pyaar mein bohot taakat hoti hai, use koi baant nahi sakta (there is unprecedented amount of power in one-sided love. No one can share it),” he said while speaking to ANI.

Amar Singh denied the speculations of him joining BJP. “If I want to join BJP, I wouldn’t be making a back door entry. I would tell the whole world and then enter the party,” he said.

According to prominent Samajwadi Party leader and co-founder Azam Khan, Amar Singh is at the root of the crisis within Samajwadi Party. “I had objected to his return within the party. Everyone knows who is responsible for the mess. Netaji should know that he is damaging the prospects of Samajwadi Party for one ‘ghatiya aadmi’ (disgraceful person),” Azam Khan had earlier said.
