Athena DeeNow that the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 is over, tech companies have transferred their attention to the Mobile World Congress. According to CNET, Lenovo has already sent its invites for the much anticipated February 26 event in Barcelona. The said company had acquired Motorola in 2014, and its invitation showed a shadow of a Moto smartphone, in the shape of the famous Sagrada Familia Church.
Since news of the invites broke out, multiple news sources have started to report that the company was hinting on the midrange Moto G5. Consumers have gotten used to the company's launch schedule, which usually involves the unveiling of its higher-end Motos later in the year.
In addition to the G5, it has also been reported that the much bigger G5 Plus will also be launched at the aforementioned tech exhibit. This device was the subject of a recent leak. According to the tip, the G5 Plus will boast of a 5.5-inch FHD screen with 1920x1080 pixels resolution. It will reportedly feature an octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and Adreno 506 GPU.
Camera-wise, the device is expected to come out of its box with a 13MP back camera with dual flash capabilities, and a 5MP camera at the front. It will have a native storage of 32GB and will also be powered by a 3,080 mAh battery pack. According to earlier reports, the Moto G5 Plus is also expected to feature microUSB support, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It is worth noting that the G5 Plus' predecessor was unveiled in May 2016. However, recent reports indicate that Motorola may have opted for an earlier launch for the G5 series.
