Income Tax department collecting info on benami properties’

JAISALMER: Principal income tax commissioner of Jodhpur, S K Singh said that in regard to benami properties, his department is collecting information in traditional system along with gathering information on properties from government depatments.
Information is also being filtered about people who tried to exchange their black money into white during demonetisation from the national computer system.Complete profile of each person is being readied which is a long process, the commissioner said during his stay in Jaisalmer in the presence of joint income tax commissioner of Barmer, Ravindra Mittal and income tax officer (ITO) Harish Chandra Mishra.
Singh said after demonetisation, there is possibility of heavy increase in number of tax payers as large number of people have applied for pan cards
