Vulgar dance show at Arnala temple irks locals

An event organised by the Uttar Bhartiya Mitra Mandal in Arnala, Virar on Sunday night ran into trouble as locals complained to the police about a temple in the area that staged an event which was deemed to be vulgar. Women performed and danced to Bollywood and Bhojpuri songs as men showered money at the the event which was supposed to be a 'Satyanarayan puja'
The Arnala coastal police have said that they had not granted any permission for such an event at the Arnala Vaitarneshwar Mahadev temple. Around 4 to 5 women were filmed on camera by local residents dancing to popular numbers, as some men from the audience also performed with the women and showered money on them.

The residents approached the police with the videos. Jyoti Kudu, who went for the event as a guest said, "We were invited by the organisers to attend the puja and later we saw women were dancing and money was being showered on them.

Few locals approached the police after they found the event vulgar," Kudu added. KD Kolhe, incharge of Arnala Coastal police station said, "We did not grant any permission to the organisers for the event, and so we have asked them about the incident," said Kolhe. Pappu Banvanshi, President of Uttar Bhartiya Mitra Mandal, said, "We had organised a puja and dance performances, and we will explain the matter to the police."
