Jishnu case: ADGP visits exam hall at Nehru College, rejects copying charge

The FIR will be changed if the police got evidence of mental torture by college authorities on Jishnu, he said.

Thrissur: North Zone ADGP Sudesh Kumar who visited Nehru College of Engineering on Monday said that the allegations of the college authorities that Jishnu Pranoy was caught copying during the examination seemed to be false.

Mr Kumar, accompanied by Thrissur range IG M.R. Ajith Kumar, visited the college and collected statements of the teaching staff, principal and nearly 30 students as part of the investigating into the suicide of Jishnu.

The ADGP, who visited the examination hall and collected statements from students who wrote the examination along with Jishnu, said that it did not seem that Jishnu had copied during the examination.

The FIR will be changed if the police got evidence of mental torture by college authorities on Jishnu, he said.

Investigating officer and Irinjalakuda ASP Kiran Narayanan and the team members were also present.

ADGP also held discussions on the investigation with the IG, ASP and Thrissur SP N. Vijayakumar.
