While he still has a long way to go match the achievements of his now-retired stablemate, the Alan King-trained gelding continued his upward curve in the two-mile novice hurdle.
Bastien (10/11 favourite) picking off early leader Not Never on the run to the second-last and readily extended his advantage to cross the line 11 lengths clear of Funny Oyster.
King's assistant trainer Ollie Wardle said: "He is just a lovely, genuine young horse. He is very straightforward and uncomplicated.
"It was good effort to defy a penalty on soft ground. He will definitely get further and his stamina has kicked in and won him the race.
"We will possibly give him a couple more races. He will be much stronger with another summer on his back."
Harry Cobden continued his march towards the conditional jockeys' title with victory aboard Royal Salute (11/4 favourite) in the two-mile handicap chase.
The 3lb claimer was required to be at his forceful best to lift the Anthony Honeyball-trained gelding home by a length and three-quarters and gain his 40th success of the campaign.
Cobden said: "He has done it well. Watching his videos he tended to jump left.
"To be fair, he jumped the last well and boxed on nicely.
"Last season I rode 30 winners and I wanted to try get to 40, so I would like to get 50 now."
Jamie Moore picked up a winning spare ride after he steered Kid Kalanisi to a hard-fought success in the three-mile-one-furlong handicap hurdle.
Deputising for the ill Nick Scholfield, the Grade One-winning jockey made his first ride for trainer Jeremy Scott a successful one aboard the six-year-old.
Kid Kalanisi failed to inspire with his jumping, but the 7/2 shot pulled out enough to follow up his last-time-out win over fences at Fontwell by two and three-quarter lengths.
Scott said: "He is not a world-beater but he goes on this ground.
"He is not the best jumper in the world and Nick Scholfield did well to win at Fontwell.
"There is a little race back over fences at Uttoxeter at the end of the month we might aim him for."
Yourholidayisover (7/1) is unlikely to be taking a break any time soon after he gained his first success since May 2014 in the two-mile-one-furlong handicap chase.
Having finished in the frame in each of his last six starts, the 10-year-old finally hit the target with a five-length success over Easter In Paris.
Winning trainer Tom Gretton said: "It's about time as he has been very consistent.
"He has popped his head in front and whether he does it again I don't know.
"His jumping has been getting better and better. He's been on the go since the summer and he is enjoying it now."
