Army jawan Yagya Pratap Singh posted a video a week ago alleging harassment by the hands of his seniors.

Barely a week after Army jawan Yagya Pratap Singh posted a video alleging harassment by seniors, and consequently going on a hunger strike, sources say that Army Central Command has reached out to his family.

According to reports, officials will move Pratap's wife Richa Singh to Bareily.

This comes after Richa said that her husband has been kept under house arrest and there is no means to communicate with him.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar was briefed about the situation, who then took it up with the Army chief Bipin Rawat.

Parrikar on Sunday said that he has asked the army to submit a complete report on the steps taken to resolve this and other issues that jawans complain of.

He said, "It is responsibility of the unit commanding officers to resolve such complaints. But yes some do abuse the buddy system...These problems cannot be resolved on point to point basis. I want these systemic issues to be addressed at that level."
