People’s fear gone after 7-murder verdict: Minister
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the panic created in people’s mind after the seven murders in Narayanganj has diminished following today’s verdict in the case.
“I think people of the country will be satisfied over the verdict,” the minister said while expressing his reaction to reporters at his secretariat office in Dhaka.
The minister said, “It is the duty of the state to bring the offenders, whoever they are, to book to ensure justice.”
The state has carried out its duty and therefore, rule of law has been established in the country, he added.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said the whole nation has become happy with the verdict in Narayanganj seven-murder case as the victims have got their expected judgement.
This verdict has proved that nobody is above law, he said while talking to reporters at his office in the Supreme Court premises in reaction to the Narayanganj court verdict in the sensational seven-murder case.
The attorney general many people had apprehended whether some offenders would be spared, but none of them were released.
“So far I know this the second largest case in the country where 26 accused have been sentenced to death,” he said.
Replying to a question, Mahbubey Alam said death penalty handed by the lower court is not executed until the High Court confirms the death sentence.
The records of the case including the lower court judgment will reach the High Court in seven days for confirmation of the death sentence, the attorney general said, adding that he will take steps for early hearing of the case at the HC.
