Bhagwant Mann staggers on stage, crowd claims he was drunk

Bhatinda, Jan 16: Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP and party’s candidate from Jalalabad Assembly seat on Sunday took the stage to address the rally in a very shabbily dressed manner. As per report by Jagran, the state AAP leaders had organized a gathering in Gol Diggi area of Bathinda which Mann was supposed to address around 6.30 PM on Sunday evening. Mann, who has been at the helm of several controversies in the past reached the venue two and a half hours late than the scheduled time. As soon as he took stage, he gave justification for his staggered body language and told people that he met with an accident while people claimed that the AAP MP was drunk.

As soon as he took stage to address the gathering in Bhatinda, there were talks among the crowd that he was drunk. With less than a month to go for Assembly polls in the state, AAP has landed in many controversies due to Mann. During his speech, Mann said Captain Amarinder Singh fighting against Parkash Singh Badal in Lambi is just an announcement and claimed that nothing can be trusted till nomination for the same is filed.

Earlier this week, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) released a video showing Mann inciting a mob to pelt stones on Akali leaders. Soon after the video was released on January 4, SAD approached the Election Commission with a complaint against Mann.  During his rally Mansa, Mann said Akali leaders will not get votes but stones. “There will be black marketing of stones within the coming days. The identity of stone-pelters is never known,” he said.

Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said he was not in the race for the chief minister’s post and mentioned that it was for the people and the party high command to decide on the issue.  AAP has locked horns with the Akali Dal that has been ruling the state in coalition with BJP for the past decade. In another embarrassing incident for AAP, Mann live streamed the security arrangements inside the parliament on social media in July that led to a controversy and landed AAP in trouble. A nine-member committee was set up to look into the matter. In December, Mann was suspended for sittings of Winter session by the committee which probed his Parliament House videography issue.
